The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service have a vacancy for a Youth Crisis Respite / Community Support Worker.
As a Youth Support Worker you will assist with the support and care of youth / tangata whaiora within the community and at the Crisis Respite and Recovery Centre when required.
We are looking for someone who has a calm nature and is sensitive towards different cultures and youth needs. You will be innovative and flexible and you will have had previous experience in working alongside people / tangata whaiora with mental illness and needs.
You will need a knowledge of and have links within our local community, and be able to demonstrate an empathy and enthusiasm for working alongside youth and young people.
You must have successfully completed the National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work, or equivalent qualification, or be working towards this.
This is a fixed term position working 80 hours per fortnight. The hours of work will be between 0700 to 2315 hours dependant on service needs, however shifts will primarily be Monday to Friday 0800 to 1630 hours. The role is fixed term to cover an employee who has been seconded to alternative duties, and will be for a period of up to 3 months.
