CAMHS is a regional service for children and youth with serious mental health disorders up to aged 18 years. Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.
We are looking for a Clinical or Registered Psychologist with at least two years post-registration experience within a CAMHS or acute mental health setting and experience, or interest in further developing the CAMHS service to focus on the mental health needs of infants and their parents, and younger age children. Some liaison / consultation with other areas and agencies will be required including working with community services such as Oranga Tamariki, schools, GPs and local Maori networks.

You will have current registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (2003) and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate. Applicants would be generally expected to hold a Clinical Scope of practise; however, consideration will be given to other Registered Psychologists if their experience meets the required competencies for this position.
You will have up-to-date knowledge of current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends. You will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary team and will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. You will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.
